Immigration Hardship Evaluations

Professional Evaluations for Immigration Cases

Meaningful Changes Counseling will soon begin offering immigration hardship evaluations for individuals and families navigating complex immigration processes. These specialized assessments provide detailed clinical insight into the emotional, psychological, and relational impact that deportation, separation, or relocation would have on you or your loved ones.

What Is an Immigration Hardship Evaluation?

An immigration evaluation is a written psychosocial assessment that supports your legal case by explaining the emotional and mental health effects of a potential immigration decision. These evaluations are often used in cases such as:

  • Extreme Hardship Waivers (I-601 / I-601A)

  • VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) petitions

  • U Visa applications for victims of crime

  • Asylum and removal defense cases

Each evaluation is personalized and based on an in-depth clinical interview, emotional assessment, and supportive documentation to help your attorney clearly present the human impact of your case.
